Hi. I enjoy the information you share. It is of great value. As serious anglers you have an appreciation not only for the well being of the fish you catch but that of the conservation of environment as well. I have been fishing at Rietvlei since age 6. I am now 62. The dam and environment has deteriorated exponentially over the years. There is more reed then required for bass fishing. I wish I could wave a wond as it would be as beautiful as years gone by. Yet it still produces good catches.
Thank you very much Hilton, that’s always great to hear that someone likes our content 🙂 We’ve only been going to Rietvlei the past 8 years and we’ve only known it the way it is now. I wish we could have seen it in it’s glory days, it must have been fantastic!
Glenferness dam a waste of time, just tons of water grass . Whether you cast in deep or shallow doesnt matter, you will only reel in grass and more grass, not even a bite, tried all kinds of floaties, mielies, mielie bom, worms etc , no picnic or sitting areas, basically primitive with no anemities etc, caught a suntan though and lots of grass!!!!

Thanks for the info! That’s a shame about Glenferness, I guess we’ll skip that place then 🙁
