Cilliers is another Vaal Dam fishing spot in the western part of the dam between Deneysville and Oranjeville. It’s often used as a club comp venue and some really good fishing has been reported.
We really struggle to find any useful info on this place but it seems popular and as a rustic camping venue it satisfies the vast majority of keen fishermen. We’ll keep looking for updates…
- casting deep works best, around 90m should be good
- quite a few snags, fish with only one hook if you keep getting stuck
- recent reports suggest musk (kiana, pink sweets) and garlic
- but surely any Vaal Dam favourites should work well
